Get Involved
Washington CeaseFire is always looking for volunteers who are willing to donate their time and skills to CeaseFire efforts. Here are a few ways you can get involved and do your part to reduce gun violence in Washington State. If there are other ways you think you might donate your time to CeaseFire contact us and we'll find a place for you.
- Membership: Our members are individuals who want to hear about the latest progress on reducing gun violence, and would also like to support CeaseFire financially. All you need to do to become a member is donate to Washington CeaseFire here on the site. We will then make sure to send you all of the latest information on gun violence prevention, invitations to upcoming events and updates on CeaseFire efforts. We welcome your gifts of talent as well, if you would like to volunteer in addition to becoming a member, please indicate so in the "Additional Info" block on the donation page. Become a member.
- Newsletter: If you would like to become more informed about gun violence prevention, but do not wish to become a member, simply sign up for our newsletter. We'll keep you updated! You can sign up for our newsletter by entering your email address and clicking the "subscribe" box on the bottom right hand corner of this page.
- E-Community: You do not need to become a member or sign up for our newsletter if you would simply like to comment on the website and participate in our community dialogue. Register to become a part of our E-community.
- Education and Community Outreach: Our education and community outreach arm writes curriculum as well as conducts workshops and presentations on gun violence prevention. Contact us to learn more about our education and community outreach team.
- Legislative: Through our sister organization, CeaseFire Action Committee, our legislative team provides leadership on legislative strategy and works with our membership to encourage policy makers to enact sensible policy solutions to firearm violence. - Legal: Our legal team provides legal analysis for all of the legislative efforts of CeaseFire Action Committee and explores the many ways the law might help our efforts to reduce gun violence. Contact us to learn more about or volunteer for our legal team.
- Research & Public Health: Our research and public health team works to gather comprehensive and up-to-date information on gun violence prevention at the local, state, national and international level. Contact us to learn more about or volunteer for our research and public health team.
- Communications: Our communications team works with community members and the media to raise awareness about the issue of gun violence in the general public. Contact us to learn more about or volunteer for our communications team.
