The details of how and why a man was shot Sunday night were starting to emerge Monday.
Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum reported that the victim was still alive after being struck by two shotgun blasts.
Detectives are piecing together what happened. Here's what they have learned so far:
The victim and another person entered a house in the 1700 block of South 55th Street uninvited Sunday night. The two confronted a friend of the homeowner and started to assault and threaten that person, Fulghum said.
At some point, another friend of the homeowner (who also was inside the house at the time) stepped up and fired two shotgun blasts, striking the victim.
Detectives were working to identify the shooter and locate him. They also were working to identify the second person who entered the South End house uninvited.
No arrests have been reported.
- Incident Type: Assault (or Homicide)
- Attributes: Western Washington, Shotgun
